I have to agree with the very helpful contribution from Xiaodi.

Once an SMSF fund member is in personal bankruptcy they need to roll their SMSF interest into a APRA regulated fund.

The option of converting the SMSF into a Small APRA fund is theoretically available but rarely exercised.
